Janelle, I am late to this! What a joy to hear about this year's adventure. I savored all you shared last year of your off season Italy trip. Truly like being there and so wonderful. I don't think anyone convey's the joy and beauty of travel like you.
I loved hearing how you just biked and photographed for your books! No wonder they are so special and unlike any others.
Do you have a Substack yet, Kim? I hope you are considering it. Your fashion posts are always interesting. I would happily subscribe. Will look you up now, to see if you are here.
Safe and happy travels Janelle. It sounds wonderful. I too am off to Spain but not to walk. These days, my travels are based around UNESCO heritage sites and gardens, and Spain has plenty of both.
That sounds like the perfect holiday, Paula! I hope those UNESCO sites are everything you hoped they would be. I'd love to see Seville and the extraordinary UNESCO sites and architecture / gardens of that part of Spain, such as Real Alcázar Palace. Have you see Monty Don's 'Spanish Gardens' on ABC iView? He visits some beautiful places. Safe travels to you, too. I hope it's a wonderful tour!
Safe & Happy travels Janelle. I’ve tried the convent stays in Italy (monastrystays.com) and they make for hilarious stories when you get home! At one in Santa Margarita (10 minutes from train station but took me about 2 hours in 35 degree heat to find it) I was woken every morning at 5 by the nuns singing & also expected to join them for all meals. Not a word of English spoken but their kindness shone through.
Thank you for the joyous respite from all the crazy happening around us these days. Yes those are all wonderful destinations. I’ve been to quite a few. I hope you make it to Revello as you’re on your Walk of the Gods as well. You’ve probably already been there! It always feels like taking a walk in the clouds. ⛅️
Yes, love Ravello, but have not done the Path of the Gods yet, Judith. Looking forward to it. Hope you find some wonderful places to explore this year, too.
Beautiful read as always Janelle. I’m currently in Copenhagen ( a city I’d never been to previously but already in love with) , then onto Stockholm and Oslo prior to hopefully seeing the northern lights as we travel into the Arctic Circle. Walking is truly the best way to appreciate a new place to visit. Your trip sounds both wonderful and inspiring 😊
I adore Copenhagen, Kim! I lived in Denmark for a year, as a 16-year-old student, and still love the country to this day. But I'd love to see more of Stockholm. What a wonderful trip you will have. And good luck with the Northern Lights! Apparently this year is supposed to be the best year in many years for it.
I'm thrilled to hear this, Maureen. It sounds as if it's going to be a wonderful trip! Please let me know if I can offer any other travel / hotel tips or recs. Will try to post lots of ideas while I travel.

I love this descripion of the convent stays, Lee. So delightful. And Santa Margarita would have been a wonderful place to spend a few days, too.

Loved Copenhagen , we are now in northern Norway - have seen the lights but hoping to see them again. Scandinavia is just a delight
Gorgeous read, as always Janelle. And really inspiring !! I’m off to London/Paris/Florence in July so have saved your hotel suggestions!

Thank you! It's going to be a special trip this April. I hope my feet can cope!
Hope you return to Italy soon, too. It's fast becoming my favourite country.
This time in two weeks I will be in Venice!
